26th Rida Cup
September 26th–27th 2026
Originally scheduled to take place at The Belfry in England, the 2001 Ryder Cup was canceled due to the 9/11 terrorist attacks in the United States. In Ghana, eight friends, unable to watch the Ryder Cup in 2001, decided to create their own version. On the last weekend of September, they played at the Achimota Golf Club over two days. The competition was set as a North vs. South event to include the numerous players from around the world living and working in Ghana.
Since then, the Rida Cup has grown to include over 60 players, being played at The Centre of the World Golf Club in Tema, Celebrity Golf Club in Sakumono, and the Achimota Golf Club in Accra. We've shared countless wonderful memories and met many amazing people.
Team South successfully defended the Rida Cup in 2025, however, Team North will look to add to their total victories of 20 in 2026. As we look forward to the memories and friendships we will forge in 2026, we proudly celebrate our 26th year.
